Proactive Versus Reactive Quality Control - A True Story
Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm CST
Session Description
Among some financial institutions, relying on post-closing QC processes to identify and rectify loan quality and/or compliance issues has long been standard operating procedure. However, this reactive approach only addresses those issues after they’ve occurred, and often proves costly, time-consuming, and ineffective in getting to the root of QC defects. More work and less stability can hinder loan growth and damage stakeholder confidence.
Shifting to a more proactive approach to QC can streamline and strengthen the process regardless of a loan’s origination environment. But it’s also a regulatory imperative now that Fannie Mae requires lenders to conduct pre-funding QC on a minimum of 10% of their production, and that’s a requirement that credit unions can’t afford to ignore.
Tune into this webinar and let industry experts from ACES Quality Management and Georgia’s Own Credit Union help set new parameters for your credit union’s QC processes. Discussion topics will include:
- Addressing current QC challenges
- Managing current and potential compliance hurdles
- Building a proactive QC program; and
- How one credit union migrated from reactive to proactive QC
Under a proactive program, your credit union not only will benefit from new expediencies and a broader safety net, but you will also improve member service and be ready if/when the regulators come knocking at your door.
