When is a Day Considered a Business Day?

Thursday, February 11 at 1pm central time
Sponsored by Arch MI

“When is a business day NOT a business day, and why does it matter? Our industry still faces multiple definitions of a business day across regulations, but just within TRID we have two, and they can change the closing timeline of a loan quickly. Come discuss this seemingly simple thing that still trips up closings for us all.”

Please join ACUMA President Tracy Ashfield and compliance expert Amanda Phillips on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. Central Time (2 p.m. ET, 11 a.m. PT), for a live discussion of what constitutes a business day. This free session will be interactive, so come with your questions. Each registrant will receive a job aid from the event that will help unravel the confusion about what actually constitutes a business day.

Note: Lightning Round sessions will not be recorded, so don’t miss out! They are open to ACUMA members only. Each registrant will receive a unique link and attendance will be monitored.

Speakers

Amanda Phillips
EVP of Compliance @ACES Quality Management

Amanda Phillips serves as EVP of Compliance for ACES Quality Management, a leading audit technology provider to mortgage originators and servicers. Prior to joining ACES, Mandy served as counsel with Ballard Spahr LLC, providing guidance to mortgage lenders and settlement service providers in complying with state and federal laws, regulations and rules in product development, sales, contract negotiation and implementation. Before joining Ballard Spahr, Phillips spent 10 years as in-house counsel for a leading mortgage origination software platform and a national mortgage lender.

Tracy J. Ashfield
President @ACUMA

Tracy Ashfield is the President of the American Credit Union Mortgage Association (ACUMA), an organization with which she has had close ties for 20 years. Ashfield has worked as a consultant and subject matter expert with ACUMA since 2000. In that time, working with founder and former president Bob Dorsa, she has helped the non-profit grow from a handful of members to an organization with more than 400 mortgage-lending credit union leaders. In that same time, credit unions have seen their market share grow from 2% to nearly 9%. And ACUMA is now the premiere education and networking association for credit unions that are serious about mortgage lending. During her years with the association, Ashfield has been the curator of ACUMA’s event programming, bringing relevant and timely educational content to the growing list of members. Ashfield is a well-known figure in credit unions with nearly 30 years in mortgage banking leadership roles at numerous mortgage banking firms.
