MARK WILBURN ELECTED ACUMA BOARD CHAIRMAN
Mortgage lending professional brings experience to credit union trade group
LAS VEGAS – Mark Wilburn, senior vice president and chief lending officer at Truity Credit Union, has been elected chairman of the American Credit Union Mortgage Association (ACUMA) Board of Directors.
ACUMA provides resources and education to credit unions aimed at streamlining performance, processes and procedures for real estate lending services.
“In its first 20 years ACUMA has helped bring credit unions together to build mortgage loan success,” said Wilburn. “I look forward to continuing the excellent networking and educational events, while looking at ways to grow credit union mortgage lending.”
Wilburn directs all loan origination and servicing activities at Truity CU, based in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, including mortgage, business and consumer loans. Truity services nearly $500 million dollars in mortgage loans.
Wilburn, who will serve a three-year term as ACUMA’s chairman, previously served as vice chairman of the board. He succeeds Robert McKay, CEO of Anheuser-Busch Employees’ Credit Union, based in St. Louis, Missouri.
Previously, Wilburn served in executive lending and operations capacities at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Point Loma Federal Credit Union in San Diego. He was the inaugural chair of the CUNA Council Forum and is past chair of the CUNA Lending Council.
Wilburn also served as vice chair of the Credit Union Housing Roundtable. Wilburn recently received the Phil Greer lifetime Achievement Award from the CUNA Lending Council.
The American Credit Union Mortgage Association provides resources and education to credit unions aimed at streamlining performance, processes and procedures for real estate lending services. ACUMA’s goal is to encourage credit unions to help more consumers get fairly priced and safe mortgage loans delivered locally, and in so doing, providing them with a pathway to the American dream of home ownership.
