Registration is open for this fall’s ACUMA Annual Conference at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center on the banks of the Potomac River in suburban Washington, D.C. The annual gathering of about 500 credit-union mortgage leaders happens Sunday to Wednesday, September 22-25.
As our theme implies, we will be “Opening the Door to Opportunity” for you and your credit union. With the mortgage business changing so rapidly, our world is being turned upside down. If disruption has you worried—and it should—this conference can help you understand it and get ahead of it.
But before you plan your travel, please check our expanded agenda on this website for the sessions that interest you. The conference format has changed—it offers more educational and networking opportunities than ever.
NEW THIS YEAR: PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP
A pre-conference workshop on “Crucial Conversations” will take place on Sunday afternoon. This 2½-hour session, sponsored by the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, explores how to handle situations such as emotionally charged, high-stakes discussions or conversations among people with significantly different opinions. The workshop is timely and relevant for mortgage executives who are dealing with compensation changes, responding to an objection or hoping to improve performance coaching, for example.
Workshop presenter Stephen Childs is the founder of VitalSmarts, a consulting company specializing in leadership development. Childs engages audiences in an active learning process to increase retention and post-learning application.
From the big ideas of industry leaders to specialized knowledge on key issues, at the ACUMA Annual Conference you’ll find everything you need to compete for mortgage business. The agenda features big hitters from J.D. Power, STRATMOR Group and Cornerstone Advisors. We’ve also arranged “talk shows” with your peers sharing their best practices.
