2023 NCUA Exam Priorities: A Bird’s Eye View
Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 1 p.m. central time
Session Description
Serving members may always be rewarding, but it’s not always easy. In times like these, with an economy in flux and banks suddenly and unexpectedly failing, your members have questions about the safety of their credit unions. Knowing where you’re going and what lies ahead is a large part of keeping their confidence and making their financial accounts safe and secure.
This also is true for your regulator. These days market threats also pose challenges for the National Credit Union Administration and its phalanx of examiners, one or more of whom will soon be knocking on your door with questions. Knowing their expectations in advance and how you may need to pivot to face those market challenges is something that can’t be ignored.
This ACUMA Fast Track webinar takes a close look at NCUA’s examination priorities for 2023 through the eyes of one of its leading regulators. ACUMA President Peter Benjamin, CMB, will be joined by Amanda Parkhill, NCUA’s Deputy Director of the agency’s Office of Examination and Insurance to take a bird’s eye view of what the regulator has in mind for what is quickly becoming a volcanic financial environment.
Discussion topics on the table this time include interest rate risk and credit risk, liquidity concerns, fair lending, and more. For credit union lending professionals — and anyone on the staff with regulatory compliance duties — this session will be critical for the safe operations of the institution and the ability to provide maximum service to your members. At the end of the day your examiner can become your ally, so take time for this session and learn just how to make that happen.
