Julie Bowering
Julie Bowering is the SVP of Mortgage Lending at Elements Financial.
Bowering has gained more than 25 years of experience in financial services, including all areas of mortgage lending and retail banking. She has served in leadership positions for 20+ years.
Her key career achievements include the development of a robust, community-based Mortgage Loan Originator program for Elements, which has paved the way for the credit union to grow from $100 million to $500 million in average annual production. Elements has also ranked as the #1 financial institution for conventional purchase transactions in the Indianapolis MSA for the past five years.
Recently, Julie led the implementation of Encompass as the credit union’s new loan operating system. This technology enhancement has shaved an average of 5 days off turn-times, far better than the industry average. She continually seeks tools to impact employee efficiency and the overall member experience.
Julie also has established the secondary market functions for the credit union; brought on more investors; and maximized Optimal Blue for all pricing and locking functions.
She believes in positive thinking and being the best leader possible. She strives for continual learning and growth and enjoys paying it forward through mentoring. Nothing brings her more joy and career satisfaction than developing the strengths and skills of others.

Julie earned her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Elementary Education.
She lives 35 miles north of Indianapolis in Cicero, Indiana with her husband David. Between them, they have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren. They enjoy traveling, camping, and boating with family and friends in their spare time.
